Key Responsibilities
Assess medical insurance applications to determine risk and eligibility for coverage.
Analyze medical histories, test results, and other documentation to make informed underwriting decisions.
Collaborate with medical professionals, agents, and brokers to clarify applicant information.
Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines during the underwriting process.
Maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions and prepare detailed reports for management review.
Identify trends, risks, and patterns in applications to support data-driven decision-making.
Support the development and refinement of underwriting guidelines and risk assessment models.
Handle inquiries from agents and clients professionally and promptly.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Health Sciences, Insurance, Finance, or a related field.
Strong understanding of medical insurance products, terminology, and underwriting principles.
Excellent analytical and decision-making skills with high attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and underwriting software.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to interpret medical reports and clinical documentation accurately.
Experience
Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in medical insurance underwriting, health risk assessment, or a related field.
Previous remote work experience is a plus.
Working Hours
Full-time position: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (flexible hours may be considered based on time zone).
Occasional overtime may be required to meet deadlines.
