Job Summary
New York City Jobs is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Analyst (Power BI) to join our growing analytics team. You will work closely with management, IT teams, and other departments to design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI. This role requires a blend of analytical thinking, technical proficiency, and strong communication skills to interpret data trends and deliver actionable recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage Power BI dashboards, data models, and visualizations that provide clear and actionable insights.
Collect, process, and analyze large datasets from multiple sources to identify patterns and trends.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into effective BI solutions.
Create and maintain data pipelines, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability of reports.
Conduct regular data quality checks and troubleshoot data discrepancies.
Support decision-making through advanced analytics and predictive modeling when required.
Present analytical findings and insights to non-technical audiences in a clear and concise manner.
Stay up to date with the latest Power BI features, tools, and data visualization best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
Proven experience in using Microsoft Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
Strong proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data modeling concepts.
Familiarity with DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and Power Query (M Language).
Experience working with data integration tools and APIs.
Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and relational databases.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Experience
Minimum 2 to 4 years of professional experience as a Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, or similar role.
Prior experience in Power BI dashboard creation, automation, and optimization is required.
Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google BigQuery will be an advantage.
Working Hours
Full-time position (Monday to Friday).
Standard working hours: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (EST).
