About the Role

We are seeking dedicated and experienced educators to join as Part-Time Online Faculty for Cornerstone and First-Term Experience courses. In this role, you will guide new distance-learning or professional academic students through foundational coursework that supports academic success, core skill-building, and a smooth transition into their online learning journey.

This is a fully remote role designed for educators who are passionate about mentoring students, facilitating interactive learning, and supporting academic readiness during the early stages of higher education programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach and facilitate online Cornerstone/First-Term Experience courses

  • Support first-term learners in understanding academic expectations and online learning best practices

  • Deliver instructional content through virtual learning platforms

  • Provide timely, constructive feedback on assignments and discussions

  • Foster an engaging and inclusive virtual classroom environment

  • Monitor student progress and proactively reach out to learners needing assistance

  • Maintain course documentation and grading accuracy

  • Participate in faculty meetings and professional development when required

  • Encourage active participation, learning retention, and academic confidence

Required Qualifications

  • Masters degree or higher in a relevant discipline

  • Experience in online teaching or academic facilitation

  • Strong communication and student engagement skills

  • Familiarity with LMS platforms (Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, etc.)

  • Ability to support new learners transitioning into online academic environments

  • Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage class schedules and deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience teaching Cornerstone or First-Term courses

  • Demonstrated history of working with online, adult, or distance-learning students

  • Experience mentoring new learners or supporting academic skill development

  • Certifications in online teaching or instructional design (preferred but not required)

Working Hours

  • Part-time position

  • Fully remote with flexible scheduling based on course structure
