The QC Senior Supervisor - Microbiology is responsible for overseeing day-to-day Quality Control activities for a designated functional laboratory, ensuring GMP compliance, accuracy, and timeliness of specified testing processes. They carry out duties in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines (including FDA, EPA, and OSHA) as well as all company and site policies and procedures. They will also support internal and external audits. They will typically guide daily work activities of up to 12 direct and indirect staff within a functional laboratory of the Quality Control department. They are responsible for interviewing, hiring, performance review, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving conflict.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of QC Analysts and Supervisors, providing guidance and support to achieve exceptional results.
- Schedule and review routine Environmental Monitoring and Microbiological Testing (ex: compressed gas sampling, Bac-T and endotoxin testing, and bioburden)
- Provide oversight of gown qualification/requalification of personnel, and assist staff in clean room as needed.
- Support Aseptic Process Simulations and visual inspection of components.
- Create, review, and approve relevant QC documents, SOPs, and WIs.
- Utilize electronic systems (eLIMS) for execution and documentation of testing.
- Approve QC microbiology laboratory data.
- Initiate and approve quality investigations, CAPAs, and change controls related to microbiology.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and successfully implement process enhancements.
- Perform tasks in a manner consistent with the safety policies, quality systems and cGMP requirements
Education:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's or equivalent degree required; focused degree in Biological Science or equivalent technical field preferred in Microbiology
Required:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a QC role within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- A minimum of 2 years of people leadership experience
- Proficient in microbiological testing techniques and methods.
- Strong knowledge of cGMP regulations and industry standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain strict adherence to protocols.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Physical requirements: ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and stand for extended periods.
- Experience with aseptic techniques and environmental monitoring.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and data interpretation.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma principles.
- This position is anticipated to have up to 10% travel

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$91,000-$147,200
