An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, skilled Lighting Technician to join a growing team of live events professionals based in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire. This is a hands-on, client-facing role where you’ll be part of delivering bespoke lighting systems for prestigious events across a wide range of sectors — from live music to corporate showcases and everything in between.


What You'll Be Doing

As a Lighting Technician, you'll play a key role in delivering creative, high-quality technical solutions for live events. Responsibilities include:

  • Installing, programming, and operating lighting systems on-site.
  • Interpreting and delivering to briefs, technical drawings, and client specs.
  • Using your expertise in at least one major console platform (GrandMA, Avolites, or Chamsys).
  • Troubleshooting and maintaining lighting systems with confidence and precision.
  • Working collaboratively with venues, clients, and subcontractors to ensure seamless execution.
  • Supporting pre-production processes and equipment preparation.
  • Providing guidance and technical support to other team members.
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of production technologies including rigging, power, and data distribution.


What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Experienced in performance lighting, ideally within live music or corporate events.
  • Proficient in using at least one major lighting control platform (GrandMA, Avolites, or Chamsys).
  • Technically knowledgeable, with a good grasp of electrical theory and fault-finding.
  • Familiar with general production practices including rigging, power, and data systems.
  • Confident in client-facing situations, with excellent communication skills.
  • Comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
  • Flexible with working hours (evening/weekend work is part of the role).
  • Always eager to learn, stay up to date with new tech, and grow professionally.

Experience in other disciplines like audio, video, or staging is a definite bonus. A full UK driving licence is highly desirable.
