Summary

We are in search of a motivated and results-oriented Retail Operations Manager to lead over 100 hourly merchandising staff, responsible for more than 200 retail stores within a designated market area. This role involves traveling to various retail sites, engaging with staff and store teams, and ensuring the successful execution of merchandising projects such as category adjustments, new item placements, restocking, inspections, and gathering data/photos.

Responsibilities include recruiting and mentoring staff, fulfilling client expectations, and achieving both project timelines and financial goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Train, instruct, and guide hourly staff within the specified market area
  • Achieve a 95%+ on-time completion rate for assigned projects
  • Build productive working relationships with retailers and client representatives
  • Consistently communicate with team members
  • Provide prompt and actionable follow-up for company team inquiries
  • Organize and allocate staff to meet client project demands
  • Oversee district expenses including travel time, mileage, and overtime
  • Manage merchandising costs such as overtime, travel time, mileage, and other travel-related expenses
  • Develop a flexible workforce to support business fluctuations
  • Collaborate with the Regional team to contribute to the overall success of the Company
  • Actively travel to job sites to connect with clients and staff, ensuring high-quality execution
  • Address employee relations professionally, in collaboration with HR and Leave Departments
  • Support other districts with staffing and execution when needed

Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills for handling multiple tasks and projects
  • Attention to detail and timely follow-up
  • Proficiency in web-based reporting and Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to stand and be mobile for up to eight hours
  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds regularly
  • Valid driver's license required

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, management, or a related discipline preferred, or equivalent supervisory/management experience
  • 1 – 2 years of experience in retail or field operations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Retail and/or Retail Merchandising practices

Travel Requirements:
  • Approximately 65% travel is necessary, with frequent travel to different stores and working with staff district-wide
  • Overnight trips may be needed depending on business needs and district coverage
